Hi!
This will be my blog for my upcoming Five Parsecs from Home game.
The Galactic Iceberg will be the ships name, you will see when it's finished. It is a 3d printed Space 1999 Eagle 1 Transporter. A tad small scale wise (1/72) but entirely suitable for gaming purposes. The crew wont be actually go inside it as the action isn't shipboard. It is purely for visual looks.
The crew will mostly be the Stargrave figures from Northstar though I will be looking for other suitable ones. The proviso is they won't be the £5 to £8 jobs that are being floated around. Keep it reasonable I say!
The first figures I have are two robots and an alien.
I know! A Games workshop Skink with a machine gun! As exotic as they come? Maybe not, but it shows versatility of figures if reimagined. Flash Hari, as he will be named if part of the crew, has a German machine gun from one of the Warlord sprues given out with a wargames magazine.
In the pipeline are also some Esher Gang figures, again Games Workshop, for gang members or crew. Also, some Stargrave Troopers for security/military types and the Stargrave Crew figures.
I'm hoping to scratch build some suitable terrain pieces in the run-up to the actual gaming to keep costs reasonable. There is a lot of suitable terrain pieces that can be bought and you could go completely overboard spending £100's on very desirable pieces. Let's hope I don't lose my head!
That is the start of the collection.
I will be rolling for the crew in weeks to come so I can match the figures to whatever is rolled, buying some figures as necessary.
